STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - Ref: 2011-SYD-001
Our Design Department is currently seeking experienced Structural ENGINEER to join the head office team in North Shore.
Working closely with Project Management team and reporting directly to supervising engineer, successful candidate will perform analysis and design of the more complex structural systems for various mining and bulk material handling machines and/or equipment for review and approval by Lead Engineer, and as a member of design teams.

Expected Activities:
- Perform structural analysis & design calculations using governing codes & standards, skills & experience
- Produce structural design report & other relevant documentation required in a format suitable for review by others
- Develop or improve design criteria/specification to drive consistency in engineering & design processes across Mayer
- Coordinate & interface with team members & other engineering disciplines as required Participate in site trips to gather project information as required
- May serve as Project engineer & as a designated client contact on smaller & less complex projects
- Assist in bid development & business development efforts
Successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
Essential:
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an internationally recognised tertiary institution
- 5 years of work experience in mining/ bulk material handling industry or 8 years of experience in other heavy industrial projects
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian and International Standards with personal acumen , good with people and easily build rapport
Preferable skills:
- Self driven
- Flexible approach to working
- Competent in using Spacegass, Microstran, MS Office (Word and Excel)
