Our Culture and values
Mayer Bulk is a professional engineering firm with a dynamic work culture that suits people with a flexible approach to their work.
We are a team whose members enjoy what they do. We value everyone as an individual, but at the same time work as a team that contributes to the overall success of our company and our clients.
At Mayer the aims and goals are about quality and effectiveness. To achieve these aims, we strive to be responsive and supportive of customers, and to assist each other in our efforts in fostering a happy, productive and fulfilling environment in our workplaces.
As the minimum standard of behaviour, required of each of us to ensure such an environment and our customers' experience of us, we set ourselves values which are defined in MAYER Values Statement.
Training Programs And Strategies
Mayer has various trainings available for our employees, from informal staff mentoring programs through in-house structured trainings as well as external trainings.
Internally we provide ongoing training on our Quality Manual and processes that are compliant with ISO9000. For our engineering staff, we run in-house training sessions on various Engineering Topics.
In line with our commitment to encourage personal and professional development, Mayer is a registered sponsor in the Professional Development Program (PDP) with Engineers Australia
The PDP is a planned period of professional formation based in the workplace and structured around an identified job and career progression. It helps engineers develop the competencies they need for Chartered Status. This includes work-based training and assuming responsibility in appropriate roles. Central to the program is ongoing and active support provided by Engineers Australia to individual employees and the organisation.
In addition, Mayer has signed up with Australian Apprenticeship Centre to provide opportunity for our existing as well as new employees to further their skills through their apprenticeships and traineeships programs. Currently we employ one trainee.
Our Training and Development strategy is to ensure all our staff hold and maintain appropriate professional qualification.
We are going to capitalise on the PDP for our engineers and to provide them opportunity and encouragement to obtain their Chartered Status. We are planning to incorporate the competency model into our Performance Management Process.
In addition, we encourage all our staff to take their own initiative in sourcing and undergoing training and professional development.
Mayer is also looking at opportunity to engage students so that they can complete their internship through us.
